BMW Powers German Biathlon Team Ahead of Olympic Season

Munich’s Olympic Park came alive last weekend with the debut of the LOOP ONE Festival, where the German National Biathlon Team launched its Olympic season in partnership with BMW. As the official Mobility Partner of the DSV Biathlon and the LOOP ONE Festival, BMW handed over a new fleet of vehicles to the nation’s top athletes, marking the start of an exciting season on the road to gold.

During a special ceremony at BMW Welt, team members Selina Grotian, Janina Hettich-Walz, Franziska Preuß, Vanessa Voigt, Johannes Kühn, Philipp Nawrath, Danilo Riethmüller, and Justus Strelow received symbolic licence plates featuring their names and chosen BMW models. “We promise the German team a relaxed journey on the road to gold with their new BMW vehicles,” said Christian Ach, Head of BMW Germany. “We wish them great success this season and safe travels at all times.”

The highlight of the presentation was the new fully electric BMW iX3 – the first vehicle of the Neue Klasse – showcased inside an oversized snow globe at BMW Welt. Fans gathered for autographs and photos with the athletes before the weekend’s main event: the super sprint competition on roller skis. The new BMW iX3 led the race start, reinforcing BMW’s presence at the heart of the action.

More than 50,000 fans witnessed an exhilarating display of athleticism as France’s Eric Perrot won the men’s event ahead of Norway’s Isac Frey and Germany’s Justus Strelow. Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi dominated the women’s field, followed by Sweden’s Johanna Skottheim and Anna Magnusson. With excitement high and new BMW vehicles supporting the journey, Germany’s biathletes now look ahead to a promising Olympic season filled with sheer driving pleasure and determination.
