BMW India Celebrates Decade of Partnership at India Art Fair 2026

BMW Group India is marking its 10th year as the presenting partner of the India Art Fair, held from February 5–8 at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in New Delhi. This 17th edition of the fair is the largest to date, featuring 135 exhibitors and a diverse range of South Asian and international voices. The decade-long collaboration underscores BMW’s commitment to the intersection of culture, innovation, and social progress in India.

A major highlight of the fair is the 2026 “The Future is Born of Art” Commission, awarded to artist Afrah Shafiq. Her immersive installation, titled “A Giant Sampler,” transforms the fair’s façade into a monumental digital and textile tapestry. The work celebrates women’s labor and craft traditions, blending hand-stitched motifs with an interactive Augmented Reality (AR) experience. Notably, the installation features a cross-stitched BMW wheel, symbolizing the harmony between heritage and modern precision.

In the BMW Collectors Lounge, the brand is showcasing the ultra-exclusive BMW Concept Speedtop. This three-door shooting brake, powered by BMW’s most formidable 617-hp V8 engine, is a masterpiece of automotive design limited to just 70 units globally. Inspired by legendary models like the Z3 M Coupe and the 328 Touring Coupé, it features a striking shark-nose front and a unique color-gradient roof shifting from Sunstone Maroon to Sundown Silver.

The interior of the Concept Speedtop is equally luxurious, featuring handcrafted leather from BMW’s Dingolfing plant and bespoke luggage created in collaboration with Italian specialist Schedoni. Details like brogue-style leather straps and an ambient light beam in the headliner reflect the high level of artistry involved in the vehicle’s creation. The display serves as a physical representation of BMW’s belief that high-performance engineering and fine art are natural partners.

BMW’s cultural involvement in India extends far beyond this annual fair, with a history that includes the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and the BMW Guggenheim Lab. By supporting artists like Afrah Shafiq and showcasing visionary designs like the Speedtop, BMW continues to foster a creative ecosystem that inspires transformation across both society and the automotive world. This 10-year milestone at the India Art Fair reaffirms the brand’s role as a vital patron of the arts in the region
