The BMW M Motorsport works driver roster for 2026 is officially complete with the addition of German young talent Tim Tramnitz. The 21-year-old single-seater standout becomes the youngest member of a high-caliber squad that now features 23 world-class drivers representing eleven different nations. Tramnitz joins South African star Jordan Pepper as the two primary newcomers for the upcoming season, while veterans Jesse Krohn and Madison Snow move on from the factory lineup.
Tim Tramnitz enters the fold following an impressive tenure in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he secured a fourth-place overall finish in 2025. His transition to GT racing began with a successful evaluation in the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO earlier this year. Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, praised Tramnitz’s “steep learning curve,” noting that the team deliberately sought to inject fresh youth into a lineup that balances rising stars with seasoned experts like René Rast and Marco Wittmann.
The other major addition, Jordan Pepper, has already made an immediate impact for the brand. Since his signing was announced in late 2025, Pepper secured a stunning debut victory at the 24 Hours of Dubai in January 2026. He joins fellow South Africans Sheldon and Kelvin van der Linde, creating a powerful trio of compatriots within the works squad. Pepper is scheduled to continue his momentum at the Bathurst 12 Hour in Australia later this month.
The 2026 roster is designed to handle an intensive global racing program, centred on the BMW M Hybrid V8 Hypercar and the further developed BMW M4 GT3 EVO. The Hypercar programs in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA series will prioritise consistency, with the same eight-driver core from 2025, including Dries Vanthoor and Robin Frijns, returning to pilot the brand’s premier prototypes.
By securing Tramnitz, BMW M Motorsport reaffirms its commitment to nurturing young talent through its junior evaluations. For Tramnitz, the appointment fulfils a lifelong ambition that began in his karting days. He will contest a select program of races in 2026 as he adapts to the GT3 platform, supported by a team that remains one of the most diverse and competitive in international motorsport.
