The 2025 BMW PGA Championship ended in dramatic fashion as Sweden’s Alex Noren defeated France’s Adrien Saddier in a playoff to secure his second victory at Wentworth. Noren, who also won the title in 2017, carded rounds of 67, 68, 66, and 68 to finish at 19-under-par before sealing the win with a birdie on the first extra hole. His triumph marked his twelfth career victory, making him the most successful Swedish player in DP World Tour history.

The tournament once again lived up to its billing as the “Festival of Golf,” attracting a record 118,421 spectators. Patrick Reed (USA) and Aaron Rai (ENG) tied for third at 16-under, while Ryder Cup hopefuls Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton, and Matt Fitzpatrick impressed with strong performances heading into the showdown with Team USA at Bethpage Black later this month.

BMW also celebrated its ongoing support of the game, raising £72,000 for the Golf Foundation’s “Eagles for Education” initiative. Players recorded 72 eagles across the week, each generating a £1,000 donation to support the programme’s efforts to introduce golf to schools and help pupils develop resilience, focus, and determination.

The event further highlighted BMW’s innovation with the UK premiere of the all-electric BMW iX3 50 xDrive, which served as the Hole-in-One prize on the par-three 14th hole. Although no player managed an ace, the car’s debut marked a new era of Sheer Driving Pleasure. Once again, the BMW PGA Championship proved itself as one of golf’s premier events, blending world-class competition, record-breaking crowds, and meaningful community impact.
